Amazon charges eligible sellers $0 for A+ Content — that’s Amazon’s own answer to this exact question. Premium A+ carries no additional Amazon fee for eligible/invited participants either, at least as things stand today.

So when a seller asks me “how much does A+ Content cost,” the real question is production: who designs it, who writes it, and where the photography comes from. Here’s the honest breakdown, with the numbers I can actually attribute.

The two costs, not one

Amazon’s A+ platform fee is $0 for sellers who meet the eligibility requirements (Brand Registry is the big one). Everything below is about the production cost — design, copywriting, photography, and video. Anyone quoting you a single “average cost of A+ Content” is blending two very different markets, so I won’t do that here.

What the market actually charges

Marketplace freelancers. On the Upwork Project Catalog (checked Oct 2026), single-project tiers run from $5–$70 at the budget end, cluster around $50–$300 for a standard A+ set, and reach $300–$550 for premium tiers. Three caveats I have to travel with these numbers: they’re list prices, not verified transaction prices; tier scopes differ wildly — some bundle several products, keyword work, or listing optimization; and the cheapest tiers are almost always template work, not custom design.

Agencies and specialists. Agencies publish ranges like these: a Basic A+ refresh around $300–$800 per ASIN, Standard A+ around $500–$2,000 per ASIN, and Premium A+ around $2,000–$8,000+ per ASIN (agency-pricing table from SalesDuo’s 2026 guide). Broken down by component, SageSeller’s guide puts design at roughly $200–$800 per project, copywriting at $100–$400 per ASIN, and professional photography at $500–$2,000 per ASIN. Treat these as “agencies publish ranges like…,” not as a market average.

One named anchor, for reference. My Amazon Guy’s public price page lists full listing optimization at $2,000 per ASIN (Standard A+) and $3,000 per ASIN (Premium), with additional A+ designs at $1,000 / $2,000 and a Brand Story add-on at $600. I have to flag this clearly: it’s a bundle that includes SEO, title and bullets, a competitor report, and a 6-image stack — not design alone. Compare it to design-only quotes with that in mind.

DIY. If you design it yourself from existing photos and copy, the cash cost is $0. The cost is time — SageSeller estimates about 4–8 hours per ASIN for a first build, dropping once you reuse templates. That’s a guide estimate, not a measured fact.

What actually moves the price

  1. Basic vs Premium — Premium modules (video, hotspots, carousels) need more and larger assets, so production costs more even though Amazon charges no extra fee for it.
  2. Whether copy is included — design-only quotes look cheaper until copywriting gets added later.
  3. Photography and video — existing brand assets vs. a new shoot is the single biggest cost swing (see the photography range above).
  4. Number of ASINs — a template system built once
  5. and adapted costs far less per ASIN than one-off builds. Multi-ASIN packages reflect this.
  6. Strategy, or just pretty modules — competitor research and conversion planning vs. “make these modules look nice.”
  7. Revisions, upload, and approval handling — some sellers include Seller Central upload and resubmission fixes; marketplace gigs often deliver the files and leave you to it.

If you’re deciding between the two tiers, my Premium vs Basic breakdown walks through when the upgrade is worth it.

Mini-FAQ

Is A+ Content really free?
The platform itself is free for eligible sellers — that’s Amazon’s own FAQ. You still pay for production: design, copy, photography. Anyone selling you “free A+ Content” is selling you their labor.

Does Premium A+ cost extra?
Not from Amazon. Multiple current guides report that Premium is currently free during a promotional period and that Amazon may charge in the future, but Amazon’s public A+ page doesn’t confirm that as a settled fact — currently no Amazon platform fee is listed; check Seller Central, as this could change. Production costs run higher because Premium modules demand more and bigger assets.

Can I skip professional photography?
You can build A+ from existing brand assets, and plenty of sellers do. But photography is the single biggest quality lever — a cheap design with great photos usually outperforms great design with weak photos.
